How to set up a business page

In this day and age, social media is an integral part of the way we live. It is also an important part of the way modern business is conducted. If you have yet to set up a business account through Facebook, you are missing out on a great way to connect and market to your clients.

Now marketing might seem like a little bit of a dirty word to you, but if you want to be successful as a massage therapist it is an important thing to embrace! Learning to toot your own horn is just part of the job! When you position yourself correctly, Facebook is a fantastic tool for accomplishing this task!

Here’s How To Set Up A Business Page On Facebook For Your Massage Business:

  1. Log in to your personal Facebook account. (Yes you must have a personal account to set up a business page. Don’t have a personal page? You can create a very basic personal account using just a nickname if you are seriously opposed to having your real name out there in the Facebook world.)
  2. Click on Manage PagesHow to setup a business page for your massage business.
  3. Click on Create a Page How to setup a business page on Facebook for your massage business.
  4. On the create a page screen select business or brand. How to setup a business page on Facebook for your massage therapy practice.
  5. Once you click on business or brand, you will be prompted to enter a page name, category, and address. You will have to enter an address. However, if your preference is not to have your address visible on your page, there is a toggle you can click to omit it from your business page.
  6. You will then be prompted to add a profile picture. Although this step is optional, I strongly recommend adding a photo. Massage is such a personal thing; having a photo helps develop trust before a client ever meets you.
  7. Next, you will be prompted to add a cover photo. Again I encourage you to add an image. This will help give validity. You could insert a picture of the outside of your office, a calming picture with essential oils and flowers, or an image of everyone on your team.
  8. The signup process doesn’t prompt you to fill out the “about” section, but again this is something I would recommend doing. Take some time with this one, be thoughtful and thorough in your responses.

And that is it. Now you are all set up with your business profile. You can begin inviting friends, posting, and creating ads. You can now engage with your clients and potential clients on a whole new level. Go start suggesting self-care techniques, educating on proper body mechanics, and sending general good vibes.
