Best New Booking App for Massage Therapists in 2026
This post is sponsored by Tuned, the best new booking app for massage therapists. It was created specifically for independent massage therapists. As always, I only partner with brands I trust and believe in — and Tuned is one I’ve been involved with behind the scenes. I’m excited to share it with you!
A couple years ago, my buddy Matt reached out to me with a business idea. He wanted to build a booking platform designed specifically for massage therapists — and not just any massage therapist, but the solopreneurs among us. The ones juggling everything from client care to admin to marketing. He saw a gap in the market and wanted to fill it.
Matt saw so many scheduling platforms out there — think Square, Vagaro, Mindbody — designed for everyone else. Salons, gyms, big wellness studios. And while you can tweak them to work for a solo massage business, he noticed that they’re often bloated, expensive, and come with unnecessary features.
Over the past year, I’ve been lucky enough to work closely with Matt to help shape his new tool. Tuned —co-created with independent massage therapists in mind. His vision, to focuses only on what solo massage therapists actually need to run their businesses.
What Makes Tuned the Best New Booking App for Massage Therapists?
Let’s be real — most booking platforms try to be everything for everyone.
That’s why they often come with:
- Overwhelming dashboards
- Complicated setup processes
- Clunky mobile experiences
- Monthly fees that add up quickly
As a former Mindbody customer, let’s just say, I was investing more in my booking software than my hydraulic massage table. I constantly found myself wading through features I didn’t need, paying for tools I never used, and feeling like a tiny fish in a sea of yoga chains and wellness franchises. And to top it off, they don’t even have an intake process.
I don’t know about you, but I live on my phone these days. I’m juggling clients, answering texts, managing family stuff — so if an app isn’t mobile-friendly, it’s a no for me. That’s one of the things I love about Tuned. You can check your schedule, adjust availability, or peek at client notes right from your phone while waiting in the school pickup line or between sessions. It’s built for the modern day world.
Tuned flips the script. Here’s how it stands apart:
- ✅ Built just for us — solo massage therapists
- ✅ Mobile-first — so you can manage your schedule on the go
- ✅ Simple — no unnecessary frills or bloated features
- ✅ Affordable — free to start, $14.99/month to unlock pro tools
- ✅ Personal — co-created with massage therapists, for massage therapists
Every user gets a free Business Page — a sleek mini-website to promote your practice (no tech skills required). And when you’re ready to grow, the pro version includes:
- A contact form that sends you instant notifications
- Secure intake forms with medical history and customizable agreements
- Auto reminders when clients book
One thing to note: if you want an app that automatically includes buffer time — that feature is only available in Tuned’s pro version.

What’s Been Eye-Opening for Me
For me, it’s been an eye-opening experience to watch the behind-the-scenes process. The iterations, the painstaking efforts to get it right —let me tell you, Matt and his team are thorough!
These days, more than ever, I care about WHO I am doing business with! Matt can only be described as a stand-up dude, not just another tech bro. He cares about people (or in our case, therapists) over profit! And to me, that matters!
I’ll be honest — Tuned isn’t for everyone. If you’re running a large spa with a front desk team, managing multiple therapists, or needing complex point-of-sale tools and product inventory, you’re probably better off with one of the big platforms. Tuned is intentionally simple. It’s built for solo massage therapists who value organization, professionalism, and light admin. If you’re looking for bells, whistles, and bulk — this isn’t it. But if you want clean, clear, and client-friendly… Tuned might be your answer.
Update as of 6/22/25:
One of the things I appreciate about Tuned is the way they takes information and implement it.
When massage therapists speak up — with feedback, requests, or complaints — they actually listen. And not only that, they implement changes.
The latest update? You can now keep client notes and session notes directly in the app. No more juggling paper files or switching between platforms.
What other booking software moves this fast to meet the real needs of solo practitioners?
Update as of 11/25/25:
Tuned has officially rolled out built-in payment processing through Stripe.
Here’s what I think is most helpful about it:
- You can set up payments in just a few minutes.
- Card are saved on file (great for quick checkouts and no-shows).
- The cost stays the same. Tuned doesn’t tack on extra fees for using payments.
These updates are a direct result of therapists speaking up. They don’t just say they value therapist feedback… they act on it.
If you’ve been waiting for a booking system that evolves with the real needs of solo massage therapists, this might be your sign to give Tuned another look.
